Patternstream executables can create a pdf file that is ready to go to a printing press or be used electronically via CD or online. Active Lightning has used this technology to create catalogs for some of its customers. We have also used it to create a pdf catalog turned into a user interface for shopping online (original file is split into a system of one-page pdf files).
