When a variable is defined, a transform can be attached. This picture shows the interface for building transforms. Similar to string templates and segments, a transform is made up of parts called directives. There are 4 types of transforms: date, numeric, string, and segment. Each one has different types of directives. The "Replace Character" transform shown here puts mark-up code around special characters; when the "Super Scripts" transform is used to apply superscript formating and take out the mark-up code.
